Your First Booking
Walk in a customer and create your first job card.
Your First Booking
Let's create your first booking using the Reception Desk — the walk-in form designed for front-desk staff.
Open the Reception Desk
Navigate to your garage dashboard and click Reception in the sidebar.
The Reception Desk is a three-pane form:
- Customer (left) — Find or create a customer
- Vehicle (center) — Select or add a vehicle
- Job Details (right) — Choose services, assign a bay, set a time
Step-by-step
1. Add a customer
- Type a name in the customer search box
- If the customer does not exist, click New Customer
- Fill in their name, phone number, and email (email is optional)
- Click Save
2. Add a vehicle
- Click Add Vehicle for the selected customer
- Enter the make, model, year, and registration/plate number
- Click Save
3. Create the booking
- Select one or more services from your catalog (e.g., "Oil Change", "Brake Inspection")
- Optionally assign a bay and set a scheduled time
- Add any notes for the technician
- Click Create Booking
What happens next
- The booking appears on the Job Cards board in the assigned bay column
- Its status starts as Pending — confirm it to move it to Confirmed
- Drag the card to In Service when work begins
- Mark it Completed when done — this triggers invoice generation
Booking statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Booked but not yet confirmed |
| Confirmed | Confirmed, waiting for service |
| In Service | Work is actively in progress |
| Completed | Job finished |
| Cancelled | Booking was cancelled |
| No Show | Customer did not arrive |
