Bays

Visual bay management with drag-and-drop Kanban scheduling.

Bays

Overview

Bays represent the physical work stations in your Garage — lifts, pits, or dedicated areas. The Bays module provides a visual Kanban board where you can schedule and track bookings across your bays by day.

Key Concepts

  • Bay — A named work station with optional capacity and type (e.g. "Lift 1", "Paint Booth").
  • Kanban Board — A drag-and-drop interface showing bays as columns and bookings as cards. Navigate by date to see each day's schedule.
  • Services Catalog — The list of services your Garage offers (oil change, brake service, etc.). Services are assigned to bookings, not directly to bays.

Primary Flows

  1. Create Bays — Define your physical bays in Garage settings with names and optional descriptions.
  2. Schedule a Booking — Assign a booking to a bay and date. It appears as a card on the Kanban board.
  3. Drag and Drop — Move booking cards between bays or reorder within a bay to adjust the schedule.
  4. Daily View — Use date navigation to view past, current, or future bay schedules.

Real-Time Updates

The Kanban board polls for updates every 30 seconds. If a colleague moves a booking or changes a status, the board refreshes automatically.

Permissions and Plan Gating

Bays are available on all plans. The number of bays may be limited on the Free tier.

  • Bookings — Bookings are assigned to bays for scheduling
  • Reports — Bay utilization feeds into operational metrics

FAQ

Q: Can I have different bay types? A: Yes. Name and describe each bay to match your physical layout. Bay types are informational only and do not restrict which services can be performed.

Q: Is there a weekly or monthly view? A: Currently the Kanban board shows one day at a time. Navigate between days using the date picker.
